I have been an Advertising, Commercial and Fine Art Photographer for over 40 years. Still enjoying having fun and finding challenges in photography. Often, I start with a concept for an image, then figure out all the technical requirements and finally execute this vision.
Oddly, my path to becoming a photographer was via the darkroom. A small 4x4 foot darkroom with an enlarger and a two step (developer and fixer) processor. That's what lit the fire! Of course I needed something to print! I became frustrated with 35mm film and bought my first Mamiya RB67. Medium format and eventually 4x5 and even 8x10 were my main tools.
I essentially stumbled into multiple exposures (easy to do with the RB67), but came up with using in-camera masking. I was then able to create some very unique images! Of course, in the digital darkroom, much more complex and precise masking are available.
I've been asked if I do Ai prompt imagery. No, just about everything I do is from my photography. I may use a texture or filter once in a while.
